Project info

Blackwood group had approached me to work on the redesign of their website. It had become dated and was in need of a responsive approach, a more simplified CMS and a brand aesthetic that reflected who they were as a company.

A key part was the restructure of the content. This included a streamlined navigation, a consultant search by name and skillset and a key insights area. The site’s performance increased dramatically by speed, SEO and Accessibility.

Before the project kicked off, it was important to understand why we were doing this and what we were hoping to achieve. What does success look like?

Blackwood have a number of different skillsets that run into different categories. Servicing them under the title 'What we do' and ordered by category created clarity. A sidebar anchor linking to each sub-section assisted the user by offering clear signposting and aided accessibility.

The team section needed to host their 60+ consultants. Rather than display them all in one list, we surfaced key consultants and built a search bar by consultant name and skillset.
